CAST IN STONE masonry art vases are designed and handmade at my studio on Saltspring Island. My vases are truly unique, not only is each different
and impossible to replicate, but I personally developed
my methods of working natural stone and minerals into
functional art. I saw, split and break the stone to achieve the desired shape of
the vase, leaving attractive, natural looking broken edges. The
resulting pieces are permanently bonded using acrylic fortified
masonry.
Every vase has my initials etched into
the stone. Each has a glass core to ensure that it is completely
watertight and will not seep any moisture. Cork pads are added to
the base to protect furniture.
Natural Stone is a perfect compliment to flowers and foliage, and
these weighty vases provide great support to the most ambitious of
displays.
The vases are waterproof and can be safely immersed in water for
cleaning purposes.
The glass liner ensures that no moisture seeps onto furniture.
Each vase sold contains an insert bearing my signature and
describing the stones used in that vase.
