Amethyst crystals have to be one of the most glamorous gemstones that I use in my vases, Certainly they are one of my favorites, even though they can be very problematic to use. I believe that black or neutral gray colours of stone best compliment purple amethyst, So I generally use amethyst crystals in a dense black slate from South Africa or the silvery blue-gray stone from the west coast of Canada. Very occasionally some purple elements in a multi-colored slate from India convince me to include some amethyst crystals in a super colorful vase.
Often my vases are purchased as gifts. Vases with amethyst crystals are particularly suitable for a thirty third wedding anniversary gift, Amethyst being the traditional gemstone to mark this momentous occasion. Amethyst is also the birthstone for those born in February. These vases are sturdy and stable and their textures are enjoyable even to the sight impaired. The vases are all waterproof and watertight.
